The Transport Systems Catapult is the latest major organisation to join the Smartgo Milton Keynes Steering Group. The organisation has joined the Steering Group for the Smartgo Milton Keynes workplace travel network to help shape and drive the growth of sustainable transport options for Milton Keynes employers and their staff.
The Transport Systems Catapult is the UK’s technology and innovation centre for Intelligent Mobility, with headquarters in Milton Keynes. Smartgo Milton Keynes was developed and is co-ordinated by specialist sustainable travel consultancy, Go Travel Solutions with support from Milton Keynes Council and Volkswagen.
The Smartgo Milton Keynes programme provides local employers and their staff with a range of travel benefits and services to help make commuting and business travel cheaper, easier and more sustainable. The programme’s membership package includes travel incentives and discounts, transport expertise and collaboration opportunities with other employers and transport providers.
Steve Yianni, Transport Systems Catapult CEO, commented: “I am very happy that the Transport Systems Catapult has been asked to join the Smartgo Milton Keynes Steering Group. As a Milton Keynes-based organisation focused on the delivery of Intelligent Mobility solutions, we are looking forward to applying our global expertise to also help support local initiatives in this area.”
Andrew Bannister, Chairman of Smartgo Milton Keynes, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Transport Systems Catapult on board to help us to grow the Smartgo network in Milton Keynes. As a UK-recognised transportation body, their insight will be beneficial to the Steering Group and to members of the programme as it develops.”
Robin Pointon, Managing Director at Go Travel Solutions, added: “The Transport Systems Catapult brings a breadth of relevant knowledge and expertise to the group in terms of people movement, journey assistance and other such areas. We are confident that their influence on the Milton Keynes model will also benefit and inform our other Smartgo networks in the UK and our wider sustainable transport consultancy work.”
