More Solar, Less Water for Bentley Car Production Factory

Bentley has become the first car manufacturer to achieve the new Carbon Trust Water Standard after reducing water consumption at its 339,000m³ Crewe factory by 35%.

Measures implemented include a water recycling facility in the Paint Shop; the replacement of major sections of the water main and fire hydrant systems, which has eliminated many underground leaks; and the installation of automatic taps and low-flush toilets in

washrooms.

The factory, which manufactured more than 8,500 cars in 2012, was recently fitted with the UK’s largest solar roof made up of more than 20,000 solar panels.
